Sue Martin Sue was raised in Ontario in a non-believing household that was radically invaded by the Holy Spirit when her mother was raised from her sick bed and made completely well after years of brain damage–induced seizures. When her mom also began to speak in tongues, the household was forever turned upside- down and Sue’s Scottish, logic-driven dad began an journey that led him and eventually Sue into a profound belief in and commitment to Jesus.

Surrendering to the call of Jesus while at university was simultaneously saying yes to a call to world missions for Sue. She immediately went to France with Operation Mobilization and experienced the miracles and wonders of a Living God. She then candidated with Wycliffe Bible Translators and met and married Gordon while studying linguistics in Texas in preparation to serve in Chad, Africa.

For twelve years, the Martins, with their three sons, served the Sokoro people of central Chad, living in mud huts in the desert, learning and analyzing their unwritten language and bringing the Good News to this Muslim group.

In 2005, the Lord led them to British Columbia to teach at Trinity Western University then moved them to Hope, BC in 2011 where Gordon writes linguistic and literacy software for Wycliffe and Sue helps pastor the Northwest Harvest Church.

Sue had enjoyed being part of Aglow since moving to Hope and has grown greatly through the teachings and friendships offered.

Sue is a pioneer; a fire-starter; a compass and a general in God’s army, teaching the Word of God and leading with enthusiasm and zeal in order to equip, unite and mobilize the Body of Christ.
