A Holy Spirit Prayer
Prayer has always been one of Aglow’s pillars. Currently, Aglow Canada is not hosting any national prayer initiatives. However, there are local and regional groups that faithfully pray together. For example, groups in Manitoba and Southern Alberta have been praying weekly for many years.
In mid-June, our Board of Directors Chair Charlotte Mandolesi sent an email to the Apostolic Team requesting that the Team pray for Aglow Canada finances during our monthly meeting that week. But our meeting was cancelled at the last minute because of Wanda Fost’s passing.
Nevertheless, Danyele felt a nudge from the Holy Spirit to pray, so she began to pray and received a “download” from the Spirit that she typed out as it came and then sent by email to the Apostolic Team members.
The next day, an unusually large donation arrived in the office!
Charlotte responded,
“Thank You Lord Jesus. You are the keeper of our Treasury, and we know You will always provide the finances to advance Your Kingdom purposes in our nation through Aglow International Canada.”
We are posting Danyele’s prayer below, not as a formula for getting God to release finances or to beg our members to contribute, but rather to publicly acknowledge the Lord’s power and goodness. It is a spiritual prayer for you to add your “amen”, and an example that demonstrates elements of effectual prayer.
Our mindset in Aglow Canada is to believe God will provide our needs and to involve you so you can be part of the process and be blessed. After all, Jesus was never in lack! He became poor so we would be rich. He listened to His (and our) Father and finished everything He was sent to do.
We invite you to pray along with Danyele’s prayer, add your “amen”, and then examine the prayer more closely using the guide that follows it.
DANYELE’S PRAYER
Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with faith and trust in Your unfailing love and provision. You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we thank You for every blessing You have already given to us.
Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention with Aglow finances. We ask that you open doors that no one can shut, create opportunities where there seems to be none, and release the resources
needed for every responsibility and obligation Aglow carries. Grant wisdom in every financial decision, favor, and guidance to walk in the plans You have prepared.
We break every barrier, burden, and lack that stands in the way of Your provision. We have confidence in Your promises. Let unexpected blessings, new opportunities, and financial increase come according to Your perfect will.
We declare that You are making a way where there seems to be no way. Our trust is in You, and we trust that You will supply all Aglow needs according to Your riches in glory through Christ Jesus.
We ask in Jesus’ name, amen.
“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)
May the Lord grant us favor, provision, wisdom, and a breakthrough beyond what we can presently see.
TAKE A CLOSER LOOK
Read the prayer again and look for examples of:
- Entering His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise (Psalm 100:4)
- Declaring our faith about God’s character and power
- Taking authority over anything that would hinder God’s purposes from being accomplished
- Exalting God’s purposes over human desires
- Praying appropriately and accurately from Scripture (there is more than one example)
IT’S YOUR TURN!
Take some time to wait on the Lord and pray your own spiritual prayer. Then be observant to see what God will do. It may take time, or it may come with a cost, for testing builds our faith. The key is to grow and mature in intimate relationship with our Lord.
