Aglow Where You Are

Aglow Canada now calls our local groups “Wells”. Here’s why:

In ancient times, wells were owned by families. Families congregated at their wells to water their flocks and refresh themselves in community. The wells were covered with very large rocks that would keep the water clean and discourage any one person from taking more than their fair share. The first to arrive would wait patiently until others came to help move the rock and share the water. Then lifegiving water would satisfy them all.

As the Israelites wandered through the wilderness, God instructed Moses to gather the people so He could give them water at a specific well. It was one that nobles had previously dug with the scepter and their staffs. The people of Israel sang to it, “Spring up, O well….” Centuries later, Jesus told a Samaritan woman, “Whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (Numbers 21:16-18, John 4:14)

Seeking godly community and refreshment with living water is what draws Aglow groups together. We recognize family. We come together to drink the water from the well of life. We worship, pray, study the Bible, learn how to become GameChangers, and pursue God’s will for our lives in our communities.
