A new year, a new story, how will your story unfold this year? Each of us can make an individual authentic contribution to life that no one can repeat or compete with. So go ahead, let God rewrite your own story; choose the outcome, change the atmosphere and enjoy the journey. The law of the spirit is the liberating force of life in Christ. (Rom. 8:2) This leaves us with no further obligation to remain stuck in the circumstance life presents to us, because all evidence against us was canceled in Christ. God vindicated us beyond anything that could ever disqualify or condemn us.
Many of you are aware of all the sudden changes I faced during this past year. I totally felted dislodge from all my comfort zones and catapulted into a place of metamorphosis. It was a path I had never trod before. I was overwhelmed as I battled and waves of thoughts about what I am not, crashed over me. I realised it was up to me to assume my identity and step into my place of inheritance in Christ. I had heard Graham Cooke say: “All our provision – all our permission granted is in that place of identity. It is the place of our acceptance; it is the place of who we are in the beloved. It is the place where we are highly favored and the place we are perceived in God. Every time He looks at us, every time He talks to us, it’s always in the context of how He sees us…not how we see ourselves.” I then realised I was invited to a love affair with the lover of my soul who was waiting to dance me through the reformation of my soul.
It is so important to be aware of how the Father sees us and not what our circumstance tell us. Graham also said: “our persona is an expression of God in us and how God wants to be specifically seen in and through us, and our biggest joy is finding that out”. When I began to learn about persona, a word which I was not familiar with but wanting to grasp its meaning, I was amaze when I read the definition in the dictionary “an identity or role that somebody assumes”. “Assumes” is another interesting word, according to its synonyms: undertake, accepts, take up, take on, take responsibility. I then realised it was not a matter of my effort to conform into His image but a matter of perception and taking responsibility for the outcome.
Canada is entering a new era of the fullness of God in Christ through His body the Church. However, for that to happen, a reformation must take place. At a particular turning point in history a door opens, the spirit of God is outpoured; the people of God are dislodged from the religious status quo and a significant increase of the kingdom comes. We are living in such a time, a door is open! Is God bringing you into alignment with how heaven sees you? We want to hear about it. There are new things to discover, so let’s celebrate who we are and who we are becoming as our new story unfolds. Thank you for rising to the call.
