Our Journey
“The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” (John 3:8 ESV)
The book of Acts in the Bible records the journeys of the apostles first through Jerusalem and environs, then Judea and Samaria, then the Levant and Asia Minor, and on to Greece and Rome – wherever the Holy Spirit sent them. So – is the book of Acts a record of the acts of the apostles or of the Holy Spirit? Or both?
The wind of the Holy Spirit that stirred up Aglow first blew on four women in Seattle, USA in 1967, activating the movement that became Aglow International. You can learn about the journey of Aglow International by clicking here.
But the wind of the Spirit moves and blows where it wishes. In 1968 it came to Victoria, and Canada became the second nation where this move of the Spirit began to flourish. You can learn about our Canadian journey by clicking here.
Following the Holy Spirit is not like following a route map or a detailed plan. We don’t know where to go or how to get there until it is revealed – and then obedience is called for and the adventure continues. You can read more about Aglow Canada’s adventuring with the Holy Spirit by clicking here.
