GOD’S FAITHFULNESS
The Lord God called Abraham out from all the people, promised that he and his descendants through Isaac and Jacob (renamed Israel) would bless all the families of the nations, and assigned the land of Canaan to them as an everlasting possession. (Genesis 12:1-3, 17:7-8 & 19; 26:2-5; 28:10-15) He chose them as His treasured possession, not because they were great, but to display His holiness and faithfulness among the nations. (Deuteronomy 7:6-9, 26:16-19)
The Israelites were rebellious. God punished them for their sins and idolatry, but continued to remind them He would fulfill His promises to the Hebrew patriarchs by restoring the fortunes of His people and planting them once again in their land never again to be uprooted. (Amos 9:14-15)
Confident that YHWH is faithful, Aglow is committed to supporting His promises to Israel.
- We reject and repent for theologies that claim the Church has replaced the Jewish people as heirs to the divine covenant.
- We digest God’s purposes and promises to the Jews in the Old and New Covenant scriptures, as well as other resource materials, and raise awareness of these truths.
ANTISEMITISM
Precisely because YHWH chose the Jews to reveal His glory among the nations, they have been subjected historically to the most intense persecution of any people (including at the hands of Christians), through exile, multiple pogroms, the Holocaust, and the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel and the subsequent global campaign of hatred against them. The world is offended by the miraculous presence of the Jews on the land God promised them 3000 years ago, to which they are indigenous. Once again, Jews everywhere fear for their peace and security.
Aglow purposes to obey God’s prophetic cry through Isaiah, “Comfort, comfort My people, says your God. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem…” (Isaiah 40:1)
- We repent for any antisemitism in our hearts, our beliefs and our generations.
- We prioritize praying for the peace of Jerusalem, both privately and corporately.
- We proclaim YHWH’s prophetic purposes over the nation of Israel and the Jews.
OUR BLESSINGS THROUGH ISRAEL
True to God’s promise to Abraham, we’ve received countless blessings through the Jews. From them come the Bible, the covenants, the knowledge of God, and our Jewish Messiah, Yeshua Jesus. Jesus Himself confirmed that the Jews know YHWH and declared, “salvation is from the Jews.” (Romans 9:4-5, John 4:22) YHWH also told Abraham He would bless those who blessed him and curse those who dishonored him (and his descendants). (Genesis 12:3)
Aglow seeks to honor God’s word to Abraham by blessing the Jews.
- We reject theologies such as Replacement Theology and Fulfillment Theology that claim the Church has replaced Israel.
- We honor and esteem the Jewish people as our elder brothers and sisters.
- We promote understanding and relationship with the Jewish people and re-establish bonds of love, humility, service, and self-sacrifice toward them.
