“Let everyone thank God, for He is good, and He is easy to please! His tender love for us continues on forever!” Psalms 136:1 TPT
My family and I are tremendously grateful to God and for all of you who took the time to pray for us during a very difficult season. We have felt the power of your love and prayers. When I heard, “All I require of you is to rest and trust Me,” I realized I couldn’t choose what was happening around me, but I could definitely choose how I responded to the ongoing assaults against my family. Knowing no trauma is too great for God to bear, I abandoned myself into His arms of love, trusting He would transport me beyond sorrow into heavenly relief and lead me to the next stage of my life.
SYNCHRONIZING WITH GOD
During that sabbatical I experienced an unraveling, a separation out of something. I heard a door shutting and was very aware of a shift taking place. At one point, feeling inadequate and uncertain, I asked my heavenly Father if I was done with Aglow. He replied with a question: “Has the dream I gave you in 2006 been fulfilled?” “No,” I answered, then asked, “What is the next step for Aglow in Canada?” He replied, “I will rearrange the government of this ministry” and highlighted the unfurnished extension that had been added to the renovated house in the dream. Then He asked, “Has that been fulfilled yet?” Again, I answered “No.” Then He said, “It is time to furnish it!” At that point, I knew I was to resume my position with Aglow in Canada and was aware that we are moving forward into a kingdom resetting phase.
I thought of the story of Hannah in the first book of Samuel. Hannah felt inadequate as she compared herself to Peninnah, Elkanah’s other wife. She knew that something in her made her unable to conceive or produce life until she reached a breaking point, a shift to where her desire synchronized with heaven. Synchronizing with God is about coming into alignment with what He purposes for us personally and corporately. The Kingdom of God operates according to a relational paradigm, not a functional one. God has called Aglow in Canada to see ourselves just as the early Christians did, under the immediate governance of the Holy Spirit as a manifestation of the new era of God’s Kingdom.
PARADIGM
There is no doubt in my mind that major shifts of a paradigmatic nature have been taking place in almost every sphere of life. Business, education, government and churches are all going through major “re-engineering”. Aglow in Canada has been experiencing such re-engineering. It is important for us to realize there is no biblical or lasting transformation unless God originates and energizes it. Biblical change or transformation is obedience oriented. It is steered by the desire to obey God’s will and please Him. Everything begins with God’s invitation and our response to that invitation. He initiates from His heart’s desire and calls us to respond. Just as He called David, who served his own generation by doing the will of God, God is calling us. [Acts 13:36]
Because the kingdom of heaven functions in a different culture, kingdom resetting can be disturbing to human organization or to the old paradigm. His resets can be minor or major and are more than correction or mild retuning – they go to the foundations. It can also be disturbing to the flesh because the kingdom operates on different motivations and strategies than we have known. However, the beauty of it all is that resets open up God’s delivery system for new arising leaders. Kingdom resets also expand the vision at the frontline, build new paradigms for this new time in history, and reset everyone assigned with fresh orders and clarified roles and functions.
The National Team and I are confident God will furnish Aglow with new Kingdom strategies to ensure we continue to flourish as a healthy apostolic and prophetic movement.
